Canada/Newfoundland: St John’s
St Jonh’s is the capital of Newfoundland, founded in 1888 and considered to be the oldest city in North America (which is factually not true because that distinction belongs to Bermuda). It’s located on the water and architecturally resembles good old England – rows of colorful houses and large stone cathedral. It calls for an enjoyable stroll up and down the hills it is located on while stopping at famed brewery to try poutine and some Newfoundland beers (poutine is a Canadian specially of fries, curd cheese, and gravy – a fairly disgusting combination).
