Nicaragua: Leon – Mercado Central
Like anywhere in Central America, markets are inalienable part of culture. In the colonial city of Leon, the Mercado Central (aka Central Market) is right in the heart of town, in a historic building just outside the grand Cathedral of Leon. Everything is here – colorful fruits and vegetable (with humongous avocados and tangerines), meat and poultry, and loads of souvenirs are on display. The sellers are very friendly and absolutely not pushy.
