Nigeria: Lagos – Holy Cross Cathedral
Churches in Lagos are like crypto currencies in the West – they all promise you riches and salvation and there are hundreds of different ones. The main Catholic institution is housed in the Holy Cross Cathedral – a large prominent neo-gothic structure towering in the middle of the Lagos Island. The church itself was closed to renovation but the outside views were quite impressive with gothic towers and pillars, and a tall belltower spire reaching for the sky. There is also 12 signs documenting Jesus’s path down the Via Dolarosa with multiple stumbles and falls along the way.
