Nigeria: Olumo Rock
Olumo Rock is a massive natural monolith in Abeokuta in the Ogun State. The rock served as a fortress during intertribal wars in the 19th century, offering protection to the local people. In Yoruba religion, the rock is considered to be one of the gods. You can climb to the top of the rock by staircase, passing various religious stops, drawings, and caves along the way. From the top – it’s a super spectacular panorama of the city in all directions.
