Niue: Limu Pools
Another awesome snorkel place along the Niue coral limestone coast – Limu Pools – several sheltered inlets with relatively deep water filled with corals and tropical fish. Some fresh water streams enter the Limu pools resulting in the water currents that don’t mix well – as you swim, you encounter blurry water that makes you delirious – there are a couple pictures of this phenomenon, this is how it looks, it’s not lack of focus. This unique natural lack of water mixing is known as thermocline.
