North Korea: Arch of Triumph

Modeled after the French Arc de Triomphe, this one is just happens to be 10 meters taller and is the world’s second largest arch (there is a bigger one in Mexico). It was built for Kim Il Sung’s 70th birthday and is made of 25,000 white marble blocks (one for each day of his life). It is illuminated at night (one of the few buildings in Pyongyang to have lights after dark).
