North Korea: Nampo Countryside

The West Sea Barrage (see previous post) effectively blocked the sea water from flooding into mainland and also dammed the Taedong River and creating excess water supply for agriculture, which is mostly the rice paddies. Driving through Nampo, you see fields and fields of rice and vegetables in one of the most fertile parts of the country.
