North Korea: Traffic Controllers on Crossroads

One of the striking things in North Korea is lack of traffic lights and instead traffic controllers directing the vehicles. The cars are few in North Korea, mostly government related, as private ownership is almost nonexistent. The traffic controllers, all in classic uniforms, take their job seriously – no smiles here. Only single women work as traffic controllers – not sure what the reason was (was too mesmerized to think).
