Norway: Oslo – The Salmon Restaurant & Oslo Harbor

Strolling around the picturesque and modernist Oslo Harbor, packed with parked boats, glass buildings and pedestrians, one must stop at The Salmon restaurant. Listed in top ten of Oslo restaurants, it is all about salmon – the restaurant sources its salmon directly from northern sea farms and they have their own smokehouse across the bay. The traditional style dishes are simple but insanely delicious – like smoked shrimp, gravlax, cured or grilled salmon. But this is much more then just a restaurant – it’s a Norwegian salmon education center. Right on the restaurant premises are exhibits about the salmon farming and direct cameras and feeds to the underwater salmon tanks. This is also a store offering the best albeit pricey salmon.
