Oman: Arabian Chameleon
I most certainly didn’t come to Oman in search of wildlife (except for omnipresent camels), and when this green chameleon started leisurely crossing the highway just in front of me – I slammed on the brakes and jumped out with the camera. The guy dashed to a roadside bush and tried to blend in. In was amazing to watch him – one eye would point forward looking for hiding route, while the other turned completely 180 degrees backward looking at me – completely independent of each other. And the color was almost perfect match to the evergreen bush, so he was almost unnoticeable.
