Oman: Ibri Fort
Here’s yet another spectacular Omani fort – Ibri Fort – in the north of the country. It is over 400 years old, and was fully restored and opened to public in 1995. You can pretty much have the entire fort to yourself – climb the towers, walk around the perimeter of the walls, and explore the rooms. Just outside the fort lies some of the more ancient and unrestored ruins of Ibri town. Interestingly, it was in this town that the largest find of ancient treasures in Oman was unearthed.
