Oman: Misfat Al Abriyeen
Misfat Al Abriyeen is considered one of the most beautiful traditional villages in Oman, located high in the mountains on the slopes of Jebel Akhdar. The village is over 500 years old, and full of traditional stone and mud houses, clinging to vertical cliffs. Surrounding the village is a wadi full of date palm groves and agricultural terraces. The village is full of narrow streets and stairs climbing to the rooftops of these centuries old buildings. Best way to experience all this is staying overnight in one of the old houses – pick the highest one – and enjoy the sunset panorama with traditional Omani coffee and halwa.
