Pakistan: Gilgit – Three Mountain Ranges Viewpoint
Around 40km south of Gilgit is a viewpoint and a monument along the Karakorum Highway where you can see all three of the high pakistan mountain ranges in one spot – the Himalayas, Karakoram, and Hindu Kush. This unique geographical location – the “junction point” – is where the Gilgit River merges with the Indus River, creating a confluence that marks the convergence of the ranges.: the Himalayas and home to Nanga Parbat, the Karakoram with its K2, and the Hindu Kush with Tirich Mir as its highest peak. The three ranges come together is this spot and there is a monument with a map, surrounded by dramatic landscape and panoramic views.
