Pakistan: Peshawar – Culinary Adventures in Old Town

Peshawar is a total foodie paradise – there is so much to try here between the street vendors and super traditional and authentic restaurants. Trying the traditional green tea with cardamom is a must, as is the delicious kabuli pilao. There is grilled meat in all shapes and sizes and with a lot of spices, with butcheries almost always right on premixed. We tried various kebabs, slow cooked lamb stews, lamb kidney wrapped in fatty bacon, and so on and so forth. Oh and we also went to a soda drink factory in the old town – Taj Sofa Water – that makes sodas since 1936, inducing sparkling water with real fruits and spices like lemon, ginger, etc.
