Palau: Rock Islands – Cruising by Boat
Rock Islands are a UNESCO World Heritage Site for their unparalleled beauty and uniqueness. The Rock Islands Southern Lagoon consists of 445 uninhabited limestone islands of volcanic origin. These formations are characterized by an “mushroom” shape – a result of both tidal erosion and marine organisms like sponges and sea urchins at the waterline. You can cruise these for days, island to island, and one snorkeling soot to another. These are several big caves and also a famous natural arch – a must-do photoshop. The islands are also the world’s highest concentration of marine lakes – 52 in total – one of them being rh famous Jellyfish Lake. We did stop here, but there was no point snorkeling in it – there are only few jellyfish in the lake now, unlike millions before (the number ebb and flow).
