Madagascar: Palmarium Reserve – Crown Lemurs
One more species of lemur that we observed for literally hours at Palmarium Reserve – the crown lemurs (Eulemur coronatus). They are named for the distinctive “crown” marking on their heads. They are medium-sized, diurnal (active during the day), arboreal (spend most of their time in trees), and are primarily fruit-eaters. While they live mostly in the northern Madagascar, they have been introduced and habituated at Palmarium. They are super playful and inquisitive and are more than happy to come and interact with you!
