Panama: Panama City – Fish Market
Just outside the old town – Casco Vieja – is the sprawling fish market of Panama City. Stalls are quite tidy and organized and full of fresh fish of all types and sizes – tuna, salmon, snapper, grouper, corvina – octopus, several types of shrimp and jumbo shrimp (that they call langoustines here). And just outside the actual fish market and about a dozen fish market restaurants, all offering an almost identical menu – 5-8 types of ceviche, sopa de mariscos, ceviche in plantain baskets, and grilled or fried fish. Delicious!
