Pitcairn: Gannet Ridge
Gannet Ridge runs through the northwestern part of the Pitcairn Islands and offers some of the most spectacular views on both the ocean and land – truly stunning. The climb to the ridge is quite steep and then the ridge itself is a knife-edged path with vertical dropoffs on both sides – but I still made it to the very end of the ridge where a single Norfolk pine tree stands at a high point with the blue ocean beneath it. And there were no gannets but plenty of frigate birds.
