Poland: Gdansk – From the Water
Gdansk was and still is first and foremost am important Baltic Sea port city connected to the open ocean with a series of rivers and canals. The views from the water or across the canals toward the old town offers an incredible panorama of medieval buildings and towers densely packed next to each other and reflecting spectacularly into the still canal waters. Notice the bizarre looking medieval crane (the large and weird top-heavy dark wooden building) that was used to unload the goods coming into the city. Taking a boat further out toward the seaport reveals a panorama of cranes and ship docks.
