Portugal: Monastery of Batalha

This monastery was truly stunning! The monastery was built to thank the Virgin Mary for the victory of Portugal over Castille in 1385, unifying Portugal. It took more then century to built, with final touches in 1517, seven kings have changed during this time. The architecture style is late gothic and the amount of tower, pillars and statues is just mind-boggling.
