Primorski Krai: Vladivostok – Railway Stationy
And the last but perhaps the most beautiful post about Vladivostok – the Vladivostok Railway Station. The historic ornate building opened here with the launch of the Trans-Siberian Railway as it is the journey’s terminus here. This is more of a museum than a station – walls and ceilings decorated with elaborate mosaics and a gabled roof and columns add to the atmosphere. One of the first trains to travel the Trans-Siberian is also here, as is a Lenin statue for some reason pointing east. So I boarded the Moscow-bound “Okean” train here to travel a 700km piece of the Trans-Siberian on the way to Khabarovsk in the north – the journey continues…
