Puntland: Bosasso – Bosasso Livestock Market
As part of touring the town of Bosasso, we were taken to the sprawling Bosasso Livestock market on the outskirts of the city. Livestock is one of the three main export of Puntland (the other two are fish and frankincense), most of the exports go to the UAE and Saudi Arabia – goats, sheep, camels. The livestock market is a wholesale market with large stalls filled with different types of animals – labeled and sorted. You need a special permission to get inside the market.
