Puntland: Puntland From the Air
Puntland is part of the federal system of Somalia, although de fact it is almost fully autonomous with its own President and judiciary and exercises significant of lot fully control over the territory, with the capital in Garowe and Bosasso being the other major city near the Horn of Africa. A flight to Bosasso often involves a stop in Garowe or vice versa, so you get to see Puntland from the air – a rugged and sparsely populated desert and mountain terrain. Once flying over the coast, it’s the beautiful views of an absolutely empty azure coastline, before landing at Bosasso airport.
