Roatan: Mayan Eden Wildlife Park

Mayan Eden is a wildlife park located in the lush rainforest hills high above the town of Coxen Hole in the middle of Roatan. Here you can get up close and personal with many of Honduras wild animals – two-toed sloths, spider moneys, deer, coati. Also many birds like parrots, macaws, and toucans! Also a butterfly garden fit butterflies, cocoons, and caterpillars. Also a long swinging suspension bridge . One of the most amazing animals was Kinkajou (Potos flavus) – absolutely adorable! These are distant relatives of raccoons and often called “honey bears” since they like honey. They are common in Honduras but almost never see as they live high in tree canopy, are very secretive, and strictly nocturnal.
