Russia: Moscow – Kremlin & Red Square
The Kremlin and Red Square are the most iconic Russian buildings. The “red” comes from the old Russian “krasnaya” which meant “beautiful”; but nevertheless there’s plenty of red around – the Kremlin, all of its towers, the walls around the old city, and most of the buildings around the square, such as the St. Basil’s Cathedral. You will need a day or two just for this attraction – see it at sunrise, sunset, and at night. Walk all around St. Basil’s. Stop by and say high to Lenin at the Mausoleum.
