Saint Helena: Jamestown – St James’ Church
St James’ Church is the main church in the capital (and the only real town) on the island of St Helena. The Anglican church dates to the very early days of the settlement here, built in 1674 (although the current structure with the distinctive belltower dates to the early 1800s. The interior is rather austere, although the stained window and the organ are quite impressive. And the best part – white terns literally make nests on the outside windows!
