Saudi Arabia: Al Ula – Elephant Rock
The area around Al Ula is very reminiscent of the American Southwest around Kanab and Arches and Canyonlands national parks – same sandstone res rocks, spires, pillars, buttes and arches. Known also as Jabal Alfil, the Elephant Rock arch is truly awe-inspiring, resembling an elephant with his trunk down. At sunset, the entire area turns into an outdoor lounge with lighting, a coffee bar (no alcohol in Saudi Arabia) and stunning light and moonrise.
