Saudi Arabia: Asir National Park & Jabal Sawda
Asir National Park protect the Asir mountain ranges and deep wadi canyons just south and west of Abha, including Jabal Sawda, the highest peak in Saudi Arabia at 3,133 m (10,279 ft). The road descends from nearly 3k m down to about 500m above see levels in a matter of about 10-15km through an absolutely insane series of switchbacks and turns. Baboons galore at every stop and eagles patrol skies above. Vistas are super panoramic in every direction, with mountain ridges and deep valleys criss crossing the landscape. It’s one of the most spectacular drives in the world, truly breathtaking!
