Saudi Arabia: Riyadh – Al-Zal Souq
Right behind the historic Masmak Fort and next to the Deera Square in Riyadh lies a whole block of covered market stalls – the historic Souq Al-Zal.Almost everything sold here revolves around incense – various sort of frankincense, different types of wood you smoke, unique cups and bowls to smoke it in, carpets to sit in, shisha to smoke, Arabic tea kettles and cup to drink this aromatic stuff, and various spices to stuff this tea with. There are also swords and daggers, traditional Arab garments and headwear, gold, perfumes, and antiques. The Souq’s been around for nearly 100 years.
