Saudi Arabia: Riyadh – Kingdom Center & Around (Revisited)
No visit to Saudi Arabia could be complete without getting to the bridge of the Kingdom Tower. The Kingdom Tower is the symbol of Riyadh and is associated with the city and Saudi Arabia all over the world. It’s known by its nickname as either “neckline” or “bottle opener”, and features a skybridge connecting the two point in top. It’s the third tallest building with a hole in the world. The building has a luxury hotel and a luxury mall where Saudi women and men happily shop at the ultra luxury label stores as well as racy Victoria Secret. Several buildings within a stone throw of the Kingdom Center are also quick architecturally interesting. And right across from the Kingdom Tower is Adwaa al Masaa Cafe, which holds the title of the largest coffee shop in the world. So grab your coffee and ride up the elevator to the bottle opener for some great sunset views of the otherwise bland Riyadh.
