Slovakia: Vlkolinec
Vlkolínec is a small village in the middle of Slovakia that for some unknown reasons a UNESCO World Heritage site. Supposedly, “it is an untouched and complex example of folk countryside architecture of the region of the Northern Carpathian”. Which is actuality a total bs – it is just an average village with 45 wooden houses, that are dime a dozen in the Eastern Europe. Even more, pretty much any village in Belarus/Ukraine/Russia looks like this – wooden log houses, wells, forest. Somebody was clearly well connected in Slovakia to get the UNESCO designation and the associated money grants and the tourists coming here in droves to photograph this.
