Slovenia: Ljubljana – Ljubljana Castle
Ljubljana Castle towers high above the city on the Castle Hill and is the symbol of Ljubljana. It takes a funicular to get u there. The stunning medieval castle was built in 11-12th century, its almost picture perfect and fairytale-like (there’s probably a princess sitting in some tower or dungeon here as well). The castle consists of several towers interconnected by thick and high walls, that you can explore in and out. The views of the city below are panoramic and expansive. And the funicular ride up and down is fun.
