Somalia: Boat Cruising off Lido Beach
Those blue boats with blue Somali flags that took beachgoers on a ride just off Lido Beach looked like fun, so when I was offered to go on a ride and excitedly went for it. With the bodyguards in the boat, we cruised into the open Indian Ocean for a few hundred meters and then along the shore. At one point, another pleasure boat approached – and people inside wanted to take pictures with our boat. I joked that we are being boarded by Somali pirate and everybody laughed.
