Somalia: Rooftop Views of Mogadishu
The hotel I stayed at in Mogadishu (perhaps the only one to stay at) is located right in the green zone that is safe and secure and is adjacent to airport. There are 8 layers of security – cement barriers, 10 foot cement walls, 2 checkpoints (where you need to turn on any camera or computer) and so on. The rooftop of this moment hotel offers a spectacular panorama of Mogadishu on one side, sprawling as far as the eye can see (it’s a huge city) and the airport and ocean behind it on the other side.
