South Africa/NC: Augrabies Falls NP – Augrabies Canyon Views

Downstream from the falls, the Augrabies Canyon is a a spectacular feature of Augrabies Falls NP, carved over millions of years by the Orange River. The canyon stretches for 18 km (11 mi) and reaches depths of up to 240 m (787 ft), offering stunning views from several key overlooks. Two of the most impressive are the Ararat and Echo viewpoints. Ararat Viewpoint offers a dramatic view of the deep gorge as the Orange River making a massive bend, while the Echo Viewpoint show a deeper area carved by the river. Both are simply stunning if not surreal!
