South Korea: Busan – Haedong Yonggung Temple
Most temples in Korea are located inland and on high mountain slopes, but Haedong Yonggung Temple in Busan is different – it is right on the shoreline, clinging to sea cliffs in a super picturesque location. It is one of the most visited temples in the country, so expect big crowds and it’s a bit of a zoo. The temple is rather new, built in 1930s, with some very recent new additions to the overall complex. Beautiful seascape views of the coastline in both directions from the temple, and the temple itself sits in a very scenic spot.
