Spain/Andalusia: Cádiz
Cádiz is almost entirely surrounded by water on all sides as only a narrow bridge connects the peninsula to the mainland of southern Spain. One of the oldest cities on earth, Cádiz is supposedly the oldest in Europe with archaeological remains of settlement dating back 3100 years. The oceanfront promenade is awesome and goes pretty much around the entire town. The walls surround the old town that contains the treasures of a spectacular Catedral Nueva in the heart of it, and also the Torre Tavira offering unparalleled 360 views of the entire city and the sea. It’s a resort town as well, as beautiful beaches are everywhere and life is relaxed and laid back (as it is in many places in Spain actually).
