Spain/Basque Country: San Sebastián
The border town of San Sebastián has a perfectly shaped curve of beach in the Bay of Concha, drawing immense holiday maker crowds from both Spain and France. The layout kind of reminded me of Copacabana in Rio – crescent of white sands with towering limestone hills on both ends. The Parte Vieja (old town) is a grid of narrow streets with medieval churches and palaces, almost empty when everyone is at the beach and then packed to the rim in the evening. But what really stands out in San Sebastian are the pintxo bars (next post).
