Sri Lanka: Bundala National Park
Bundala National Park in the south of Sri Lanka protects wetlands and coastal habitats that have been designed UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. While there are a lot of land animals (some elephants, leopards, monkeys, terrapin turtles, land tortoises, water and ground monitor lizards, crocodiles, and so on), it’s the bird life that is truly amazing here – 197 species! There are eagles, cormorants, kingfishers, storks, herons, spoonbills, and many more. It times it felt like a true African safari. There is also a very beautiful coastline with rocks and beaches.
