Sri Lanka: Uda Walawe National Park
Uda Walawe National Park is yet another spectacular Sri Lankan wildlife park. While it doesn’t have ocean access, it has multiple rivers and plentiful water reservoirs attracting large Asian elephant herds, water buffalo, deer, and prolific bird life. In fact, the birds were really the most impressive here, with a lot of migrant species as well as rare endemics like the Sri Lankan hornbill. The landscape itself is spectacular – vast expanses of green wetlands, best seen in the late afternoon warm light.
