St Kitts: Brimstone Hill Fortress
Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park is one of the most amazing fortifications in the Caribbean and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The construction began in 1690 on a steep hill in the northern St Kitts island. The views allowed a near 360 panorama down toward the sea, the other Caribbean islands and the rest of the St Kitts. This fortress is known as the Gibraltar of the West Indies for its extreme inaccessibility. It’s one if the best preserved fortresses in Americas and is very impressive – location, fortifications, cannons, views!
