Sudan: Khartoum – Corinthia Hotel
Corinthia Hotel in Khartoum is also known as Gaddafi’s Egg and is certainly the architecturally interesting building in the the capital. The 5-star hotel is located right next to the meeting point of the Blue Nile and White Nile and offers panoramic views of the city from the top floor restaurants. The hotel was financed and built by Muammar Gaddafi and Libya, designed to rival and perhaps surpass the Burj Al Arab in Dubai, which it resembles quite a lot – it also looks like a ship’s sail.
