Sudan: Merowe – Cruising on the Nile
Can’t visit Sudan without getting at least on a short boat cruise in the River Nile, the lifeline of the country. While the Sandy desert stretches for miles everywhere else in the northern Sudan, it’s palm groves and oases along the river, farmland cultivated, waffled being pumped, and loads of wildlife along the river banks – like giant monitor lizards and tons of birds.
