Sweden: Karlskrona
Karlskrona is the last remaining naval base in Sweden and the only baroque city in the country. It’s also a UNESCO World Heritage site. The city was founded in 1680 as a naval base by Charles XI and the architecture and layout have remained almost unchanged since. The nearby islands and shoreline have a lot of fortifications, while the town center has large squares, wide cobblestone streets, and historic building like the Townhall, Admiralstorn, Amiralitetskyrkan, Church of the Holy Trinity, Naval Museum, and more.
