Syria: Big Brother is Is Watching You
Almost everywhere you go in Damascus and other cities in Syria, you are greeted by Assad staring at you from posters, wall paintings, graffiti, and souvenirs memorabilia. Personality cult? Patriotism? A combination of both? All the people we spoke to are very clearly on the government side and view the civil war and rebels as mostly foreign-sponsored fundamentalists and proxies trying to assail the secular Syria. Everyone is optimistic that the situation has normalized and people are more concerned about economic conditions then who their president is.
