Syria: Damascus – Driving Around Damascus
We did venture outside the old town of Damascus and into other residential neighborhood as well as then Martyrs Square. While photography was essentially impossible since the military checkpoints are basically on every crossroads, life seemed quite normal – people shopping, hanging out in the parks and drinking coffee, and taking endless selfies in front of the “I Heart Damascus” sign. It’s a dusty a hectic town, but quite similar to any other middle eastern or North African metropolis.
