Taiwan: Taipei – Dalongdong Baoan Temple
Just next door to the Taipei Comfucius Temple is an absolutely stunning and over-the-top spectacular Dalongdong Baoan Temple. The temple dates back to 1742, although the current structure is from early 1800s. The temple is renowned for its exquisite traditional Minnan (southern Fujian) style architecture – ornate dragon columns, colorful pottery figurines, intricate wood carvings, murals, and stonework depicting myths and historical scenes. The rooftop ridges feature vibrant ceramic dragons, phoenixes, and mythical creatures. The temple has a classic three-hall layout with a grand main hall housing the statue of Baosheng Dadi.
