Taiwan: Taipei – Ningxia Night Market
Ningxia Night Market is perhaps the most famous and most authentic night market of Taipei, often referred to as “stomach of Taipei”. It’s rather compact and takes just one block and a single bus street. It’s packed with all the famous and infamous Taipei a Taiwan specialties – stinking tofu, all parts of duck and geese, insane seafood, pork belly, squid, mushrooms, “small intestine in large intestine”, pork dumplings, takiyaki – and then some What’s more – five of the stalls are actually Michelin rated – Yuan Huan Pien with Oyster Omelet (absolutely awesome), Rong’s Pork Liver with pork liver soup (another awesome dish), Fang Chia with with shredded chichen rice (wasn’t impressive to be honest), Li Yu Zee with deep-fried taro balls (quite interesting and unusual), and Lin Zhen Zhao with burning mochi – all these places have long lines. This is an absolute foodies’ paradise!
