Tanzania: Bagamoyo – Fish Market
Right in front of the wide sandy beach in Bagamoyo is the local fish market – as authentic and real as you could possibly imagine it. Besides fresh fish for sale – including giant barracuda with massive teeth – there is a large area where the fish is being smoked on open charcoal fires and big metal frying pans with the stench of oil boiling and fish skin burning. It’s all very colorful – women in ultra bright clothing, fishermen with their catch, white sand, broken boats, and bright sunshine.
