Tanzania: Serenegeti NP – Wildebeest Migration: Predators
Predators like lions, leopards, cheetah, hyenas follow the migration closely on the flanks and the back. And while the predators take a serious toll on the migrating antelopes, their sheer numbers and reproductive capacity keeps them going and growing every year anyway. While driving through the heart of the army of wildebeest, we noticed their numbers thinned drastically, as if the sea waters moved away and….. drumroll…. there was a pride of lions on the middle of the grasslands, clearly following the migration.
